How do Cash App Pay Disputes work?

Like other kinds of payment disputes, Buyers can dispute Cash App purchases, too, for two different reasons:

  • Fraud: A buyer says they were not involved in the transaction and that their card or account was stolen and then used by fraudsters. Sellers who have a fraud claim through the Cash App Pay are entirely protected by the Cash App and don’t owe any money to settle the issue. They don’t need to do anything to get this protection; however, this coverage does not apply to any other payment method.
  • Non-fraud: The buyer admits that they have made the payment for themselves but that the product or services purchased were not delivered or did not meet the expectations of what they expected to get. Cash App cannot accept sellers who have an unfraud-related dispute through Pay App Pay. Sellers have to follow the usual procedure for settling disputes. They can raise a dispute using evidence and win or lose after reviewing the disputes from Cash App or the cardholder’s bank. This procedure is similar to how other non-Cash App pay disputes are resolved.
